About the CHFI Certification
Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI) certification requires that entry level IT professional profess the knowledge necessary to identify intrusion methods and trace illegal hacker activities using computer forensic footprints. In order to become a certified professional, candidates must have experience using identification methodology to locate cyber criminals. The examination for this certification is the Certified Hacking Forensic Investigator exam 312-49.
In addition to the exam, the IT professional must understand how to extract forensic evidence from the computer to be used as evidence for prosecution. Certification requires an understanding of all Windows PC and Macintosh file systems. Along with the knowledge and skills to discover the best methods to recover and retrieve data that has been deleted, damaged or encrypted.
CHFI credential is valid for two years.
